Why & How: Campaign brief

Fare-Free London campaigns for free public transport in London. Our organisation, launched at a meeting on 10 February 2024, brings together community groups, trade unions, environmentalists and others who see free public transport as central to our vision of the city in which we want to live. Part 1 of this Briefing is a summary of our campaign’s aims, approved at that meeting. Parts 2 and 3 explain the need for free public transport, and the remaining parts cover how it could be achieved.

Silvertown Tunnel

Silvertown Tunnel opening day leaflet

This leaflet was made for the opening of the Silvertown Tunnel, where three free bus routes were provided to ‘offset’ the increased car journeys the tunnel creates. We argue all public transport can and should be free.
